Dear Parents,
The year is winding down to the final week! Next week is our last week of school and it is full of much activity.
Besides all of the class parties and events, we have two other important days. Eight grade graduation is on Wednesday,
June 7 at 7:00 p.m. in our Faith Chapel. There is a minimum day schedule on Thursday, June 8 (12:30 p.m.), and an early
dismissal on Friday, June 9 (11:30 p.m.). On the last day of school, we will have a School Awards Ceremony at 9:30 a.m.
and our closing chapel at 10:45 a.m. Parents are invited to attend both of these events.
Renee Lloyd will be leaving her position as Kindergarten Aide at the end of this school year. Mrs. Lloyd has
been a tremendous blessing to our school, and we will miss her. Renee had three children go through St. John's.
She has worked in a variety of roles here at St. John’s, and has had a caring and loving influence on so many children.
We wish Mrs. Lloyd God's richest blessings as she takes on new challenges in her life.
This past week, we honored Cindy Zeller by dedicating the 2005-06 yearbook to her. Mrs. Zeller is a wonderful blessing
to all of the staff, students, and families at St. John’s. You can see the dedication page for yourself in the yearbook when they are dispersed next week.
Please be sure to come to the Music Festival during the Sunday services this weekend. Below are the scheduled times
for your child's group or class. I want to thank the teachers and directors for their work in preparing for this event.
I also want to remind all of our St. John’s Church member families of the congregational voter's meeting on Sunday,
June 11 after the late service. This is a church budget meeting, and one of the recommendations in that budget
is a reduction in the member child discount. This is also a great opportunity for us as members to show our support
and desire to be a part of the total ministry of our church.

- School Sweatshirts:
Any St. John's sweatshirts (ordered through the Athletic Department) are acceptable under the new school dress code. If you are

be printed and ready for you on registration day in August. Additional orders can be placed on registration day.
- Sports Awards:
Our annual sports awards presentation will be held this coming Monday evening, June 5th at 7:00 pm in the church.
We will be recognizing students who participated on our school teams (Lutheran Schools Athletic Association) in
7-8 volleyball, 5-6 and 7-8 basketball, and K-8 track. Presidential and National Physical Fitness
Awards will also be presented that evening. We will not be recognizing participation in NCRD basketball
at any level this year, since registration is now accepted on an individual basis, rather than as a school-sponsored team.
- Country Fair:
Thank you notes for Country Fair donations are being mailed this week. If you donated a bottle of wine,
and did not receive a thank you, stop by the school office and pick up a letter for your tax purposes.
Some wine was dropped off in the parking lot and office without any donor information.
- Youth Symphony:
If you have a child that is experienced in the violin, string bass, viola, cello or wind instruments who would like to be part of the Napa Valley Youth Symphony, please contact Debbie Bommersbach at 253-9381.
- Trophies:
We've been looking for a new home for a couple hundred sports trophies St. John's has won over the past few decades (70's, 80's, and 90's) but no longer has space to display.
Last week we were able to donate several boxes to an organization called "Sports 4 Kids", located in Oakland. We're glad the tradition
begun here will continue for other young athletes. Thanks to Bill Cremen for delivering the trophies to their new home.
- Box Tops for Education:
Thank you from bringing your Box Tops to school. We earned over $200 for St. John's. Attached to this note is a baggy for you to collect box tops
over the summer. Please save them and turn them in for a chance at a drawing to be held in September. If you will not be returning to St. John's
in the fall, please use this bag to turn in your Box Tops before June 10th.
- Lost and Found:
Unclaimed items will be donated at year end!
- Vacation Bible School:
Hit the beach! Discover Jesus, our greatest treasure in Treasure Cove Bible stories, songs, games, snacks, activities, and crafts.
Go on a Clue Quest to find missing treasure. Treasure Cove vacation Bible school will be held July 17th-21st, 5:30-8:15 pm,
at St. John's Lutheran Church. To sign up, return the registration form to the VBS sigh-up box in the church or school
