Thank you to all who attended our Open House last evening! I want to say a special thank you to our teachers and staff for their hard work getting ready for this event. We are truly blessed with an outstanding staff!

Next Wednesday is Ash Wednesday and the start of Lent. It is tradition at St. John's to have a service of ashes. We will do this as a part of our chapel worship service. Part of the service will include the imposition of ashes, symbolizing our sinfulness and need for Christ's forgiving action on the cross. It will involve the pastor putting his finger in some ashes and drawing a small cross on each person's forehead. This will be optional for students, so your child will have the option to not participate. Parents are invited to come and participate in this service as well.

In Christ,
Joel D. Wahlers
Principal

  8. From the Minister to Youth and Children:

Summer Camp Information: It's never too early to start planning for summer camp and to get the special "early bird" rates. Mt. Cross, located in the Santa Cruz mountains is a great place for camp. Check out all their programs for 2nd graders all the way through High School age youth. They even have a great "Family Camp," too. It's all available on their web site at www.mtcross.org or, for a brochure, stop by Steve's office.

8th Graders: Don't forget to talk to your parents about the High School Houseboat trip that is coming up this summer. Spaces are going fast, so if you are thinking about attending, make sure to talk to your parents today! Any questions, contact Steve at 255-7451.
