On Eagles' Wings
December 2, 2005
Vol. 3, #15
From the Principal

Dear Parents,

During the first trimester of the school year, we have been raising funds for one of our sister Lutheran schools in New Orleans. It just happens to also be St. John Lutheran, and they are also the Eagles. St. John is located in an area of New Orleans that was flooded. The school had more than four feet of water throughout the facility. Our funds, along with matching funds from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, will go to this school to help with their rebuilding and other needs they have. We raised almost $2,500 so far. I hope that we can not only help them financially, but also remember them in our prayers. They are not having school yet, and probably will be out for most, if not all, of the year. Their church had its first service in their building this past Sunday. If you are interested in looking at pictures of the school right after the water receded, you can go to their website at www.sjlno.com and get a real look at what it is like.

I need to remind parents and students once again to practice care and safety when dropping off students in the morning. Please use the crosswalk and do not let children walk across the parking lot between cars. We have had some near misses, and we need all of you as parents to help us keep our parking lot safe!

In Christ,
Joel D. Wahlers
Principal

We'll mail them to the recycling company and they will give us some money for each one. The recycling boxes will be located in the Church Narthex, the Gym, the Church Office, the Teachers' Break Room and Steve's office. Start asking your friends and neighbors for their old cell phones, too. Please bring in only the cell phone and attached battery, no accessories, such as car chargers will be accepted. Any questions, please contact Steve at 255-7451. Thanks for your support!
