Dear Parents,
Congratulations to the boys' basketball team! They won the championship of the Dan Clark Justin Siena Basketball Tournament this past
weekend. Also, congratulations to the girls' team for their third place finish!
We have been observing Holy Week this past week at our school. Each morning we have been coming together for devotions and under
the theme of "Peace by Piece" have been putting together the pieces of our Lord's plan of salvation. The ultimate piece was Christ's
death and resurrection on Easter morning. I pray that all of you and your families have a special Easter celebration and that you
are truly blessed with the peace of Christ! May God bless all of you during Easter and our Spring Break next week!

In Christ,
Joel D. Wahlers

| Weekly News |
- 7/8 Basketball:
The 7th & 8th grade basketball season came to an end this past weekend in exciting fashion at the 39th annual Justin-Siena
Dan Clark Tournament. St. John's Girls' Team took third place with a win over St. Apollinaris in their final game. Kelsey Zeller
and Zina Zaia were named to the All-Tournament Team. The Girls finish the season at 24-2.
St. John's Boys' Team captured first place with a 54-42 win over St. Dominic's of Benicia. Kevin Cardey and Brad Lloyd were
All-Tournament Team selections and Kevin Haugen was the tournament M.V.P. The boys finish their season with a 27-6 record.
Congratulations to both teams on a great season and a big thank you to parents and fans who've supported us all season long!
- Country Fair/Silent Auction:
Great items have been trickling in for the Silent Auction event coming up on Country Fair Day. Wine treasures, sporting equipment,
gift baskets & more are arriving daily. Remember to drop off a bottle of your favorite wine for the St. John's Family Wine Cellar Raffle.
Stumped for ideas on items to donate? Some of the most "rewarding" items in auctions past include: spa treatments, restaurant gift
certificates, stays at vacation homes, rounds of golf, puppies, collectible wines, sailing excursions and sporting event tickets. Why
not use Scrip to purchase an item to donate - a BBQ from Home Depot, a Mexican Fiesta at Compadres or a gift basket from Napa
Valley Lavender - to help fulfill your Scrip goal?
We're still looking for our first theme dinner party. Have a knack for cooking or entertaining? Have access to a fabulous place to
host a poolside Hawaiian Luau? An Outback BBQ? Pull your friends together and create a priceless auction lot of a dinner party or
gathering. You'll have as much fun hosting as the lucky bidders who attend your event.
- The Helfrich Family:
If you would like to show your support in helping the Helfrich family (a church family), please contact Christi and Steve Jeffery via phone
or e-mail at napacj5@sbcglobal.net. Some upcoming fundraisers are: April 11th: Dinner at Downtown Joes (a
percentage of sales will be donated to the Helfrich fund). June 11th: Poker Run, Tri-tip dinner at St. John's
(Contact Pastor Mike for more info). July 16th: Rummage sale (contact Theresa Johnson).
- Vintage High School Girls Open Gym:
Open gym will begin for Vintage High School Basketball on Wednesday, March 30th. They will be on every Wednesday in the
Vintage gym from 6:00-8:00. This will continue thru the summer and will move to Thursdays once school begins in August.
Anyone who wants to play some basketball is welcome.
- PALS:
Please remember to sign your child out of PALS. If a sign-out time is not provided, you will be charged as if they were there until 6:00 pm.
If you have a child who needs to be excused from PALS for baseball, soccer or other sporting events please provide us with a note
telling us what time your child is to leave PALS, where they are going and with whom, and if they will be returning after practice.
- Lost & Found:
All items left in lost and found have now been donated to charity.
- The Scoop >From Scrip:
One more month left to meet your Scrip commitments. April 30th is the final day, and then beginning May 1st
you will begin next school year's commitment. For balances, please stop by the School Office after the Easter break.
- From the Minister to Youth and Children:
7th and 8th Graders:
Don't forget to start getting your pledges for the "Car Wash" and remind people that the car wash happens on April 30th from 9:00-3:00 pm.
If you need some help, please call Steve at 255-7451.
8th Graders:
For those of you that will be joining us for the High School Houseboat Trip this summer, your deposit of $100 is due.
Please get that to Steve as soon as possible. There are just 2 spots left on the trip, if you still would like to go.
The dates are July 11-16, 2005, and the cost is $260. Any questions, please call Steve at 255-7451.
