Vol. 2, #10
From the Principal

Dear Parents,

I want to congratulate our new Student Council officers who were elected a couple of weeks ago! Congratulations to Cooper Neu as our new Student Body President and Allison Fitzgerald as our new Student Body Secretary. We also have our new class representatives in place as well. Student Council is made up of student representatives in grades 5-8 who meet to give students an organized group to learn about leadership and represent the students of St. John's.

Lifetouch is our new school picture company this year. Lifetouch has a safety program; SmileSafe Kids that they offer our school whereby every student picture in the school is saved in a database. In the unfortunate event that a student is a lost or missing, parent can call in and the picture will be available instantly to the Amber Alert System. We have been given two cards for each student that parents can carry with them for such an emergency. On the card is an ID number that can be used when calling in. The cards and all the other information are available from your child's teacher. Due to confidentiality, and the fact that ID numbers are on the cards, it is important that parents come in and get these directly from the classroom teacher. If you cannot pick them up soon, they will also be available during Parent-Teacher Conferences

In Christ,
Joel D. Wahlers
Principal

A woman was asked by a co-worker, "What is it like to be a Christian?" The co-worker replied, "It's like being a pumpkin. God picks you from the patch, brings you in, and washes all the dirt off of you. Then He cuts off the top and scoops out all the yucky stuff. He removes the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, and then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside of you to shine for all the world to see."
